The mission of Lindberg Slayter Reconstructions is to bring masterworks of the late Nineteenth and early Twentieth Centuries to the contemporary stage.
Dance historian, Labanotator, and performer Jessica Lindberg and dance lighting designer and lighting historian Megan Slayter created LSReconstructions in 2007. Their first project was reconstructing the lost masterwork, “Fire Dance” by modern dance and lighting pioneer Loïe Fuller. In 2003, “Fire Dance” returned to life at The Ohio State University and has since been performed across the country. LSReconstructions was commissioned to reconstruct Loïe Fuller’s “Night” in 2004 for MOMENTA Dance Company and worked with MOMENTA again in 2007 to reconstruct Fuller’s beautiful “Lily of the Nile”.
Future projects for Lindberg Slayter Reconstructions include The Ballets Russes’ “Fireworks” and Loïe Fuller’s “The Sea.”
